QUESTION:

Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Languages reflect countries’ culture and behaviours. When you live in foreign country, you can understand this easier. Moreover, if you have to speak foreign language at some places where you live, you start to learn about their life. At the same time you start to face with some social problems such as interaction and finding job problems at the beginning. Yet this doesn’t mean that you can’t live anyplace where you have to speak foreign language. Moreover, you can do practical works for foreign languages. 

Firstly, foreign language can learn easier at language’s country. You can also do practic with people. But it is not sufficient at the beginning. You may face with some problems. For example, even if you want to interact with people, people may do not want to speak with you because you don’t have sufficient speaking ability. Indeed, some multiplayer games like noisy cinema are played with speaking ability and people don’t want to play with you. You can feel excluded and you have social problem. 

On the other hand, when you have to work for living costs at foreign country where you have to speak foreign language, you must know this language. Inasmuch as employers want generally labour who know their languages. So you can face with unemployment problem. This problem affects your life. If you do not have job, you can not earn money and you can not meet people at outside. Therefore you can feel alone,too.

To conclude, when you have to speak foreign language at foreign country where you have to live, you may encounter social problem such as interaction and finding work. Thus, if you do not want to feel alone and exluded at foreign country, you must develop your speaking skill before you go there.
